履带式起重机操作灵活。使用方便,有较大的起重能力,在平坦坚实的道路上还可负载行走,更换工作装置后可成为挖土机或打桩机,是一种多功能机械。但履带式起重机行走速度慢,对路面破坏性大,在进行长距离转移时,应用平板拖车或铁路平板车运输。
